Athletes and celebrities are used in advertisements and commercials all the time to try and promote products to make people buy them. More than likely, they probably don't even use the product or service and are just getting paid by the company to promote it. Now with this PSA, it features LeBron James from the NBA; he's probably one of the most well known athletes in sports today and people will probably listen to what he is saying. With this ad, he is promoting kids in high school to not drop out and just be another statistic. If he was one of those students that dropped out, then he wouldn't be where he is today and no one would know who he was. I like this ad because they used an athlete that everyone knows and probably respects. And I feel that young kids respect him because of what he does on the court and want to grow up to be like him so they are going to listen to what he was to say.
After watching the commercials that were played during the game last week, I would have to say that there were only a few that I actually liked. Compared to commercials played during the Super Bowl from previous years, there wasn't a lot this year that were very entertaining. The one that I probably liked the most was the Chrysler commercial featuring Clint Eastwood. I feel that it was more moving than entertaining. Not only did it show that Chrysler isn't going to give up but the people of the United States will continue to move forward no matter what comes our way. Everyone has had bad times but it's time for keep going and not look back.
